Bingo enthusiasts take to Mount Everest to set the world record for the highest Bingo game ever

As part of an initiative to raise money for Sue Ryder Care charity in the United Kingdom, a group of die hard bingo lovers will head to Mount Everest in attempt to set the new record for the World’s Highest Game of Bingo.

This group of 24 dedicated bingo enthusiasts is made up of Gala Coral Group employees from all over the U.K. Gala Coral Group is Europe's leading gaming operator, which includes Gala Bingo, the UK's Number 1 bingo operator with over 175 clubs and more than 5 million members.

As part of the preparation for Bingo at 17,500 feet, the group has engaged themselves in grueling training sessions of
long distance running, hill walking, and
double-quick games of Bingo.

In attempting to set this world record, the group hopes to smash their goal of raising £100,000 for the charity. This Everest trek is one of many ongoing initiatives by the Gala Coral Group in the U.K. to raise £1 million by 2010 for Sue Ryder Care, which provides end of life and long term care to people living with conditions including cancer, multiple sclerosis, stroke and Huntington's Disease.

The World’s Highest Bingo Game will begin in Lukla on October 19 and finish at Everest Base Camp (17,500 feet elevation) on October 24.
